Christmas Break
When better to write about Christmas break, then now, a week before it. Christmas break is 30 days long and I can say I am very happy with that much family and friend time. God has given me a good semester at Davis College. I just want to send out a shout out to those who read my blogs. Thank you for being actively involved in reading and commenting on these blog post. It means alot that you guys particpate in what I am doing in life. I can't express my thank you enough. I hope you guys learned what you wanted about me. I hope that some of my writings informed you and maybe even challenged your thinking. I have decided that this is something that I want to keep doing. I do not plan on doing one every week, but that does not mean that I wont do more than one a week. Depending on how I feel will decided on how many times a month I will post. Thank you once again for reading and please everybody remember the true meaning of Christmas. It isn't about what we have and it should be more about what others do not have. Above all remember Christ!!!

Pokemon Craze
Whats the hype with Pokemon?
At college I have noticed a new, yet old trend re-appearing, POKEMON? The original Pokemon were very big for our generation back when we were in 4th-6th grade. I personally loved Pokemon back then, but the love faded as I grew up and new weird pokemon were created. I lost my interest in Pokemon, but this old trend has re-appeared in my life. Now I play on my computer the original games and it relaxes me so much. I have heard a little feedback about playing these games. Some negative and very little positive. The most common negative comment is why would you play that you *^$? I reply by saying how can you turn your back on something that you loved so much when you were young? Pokemon is an innocent cartoon, it is not the devil or evil, so why not enjoy it. This brings me to my question, " Whats the Hype with Pokemon?" I have no clue why the original Pokemon have popped back up, but I can admit I am one of those who play on occasion. Heck, I even made my own game that runs through my microsoft Excel Program. I even have three other friends here at Davis College who play my game. So if anyone knows how or why they have popped back up, let me know please.
GOD bless and thanks for Reading.
PS. Who is your Favorite Pokemon?
Mine is Bulbasaur

Ending Of A Semester
Dear Readers,
I am writing to you guys today to let you know about my first semester at Davis College. I arrived on campus back in August, it is now December. Throughout the semester I was very active in class, exercise, and social gatherings. During the first four months I made a calendar to help ensure that homework dates were completed. I was very pro-active about getting homework done early and turning it in before the due date. But the last week of November and beginning week of December has been rough for me. I started to stop doing homework early and instead I just did it the night or two before. I am still getting the work done and getting good grades, but I have become more stressed due to last minute homework assignments. Moving to exercise now, I have been playing intermural Volleyball and also practicing on Thursday nights. There are occasional night that we also get together and play football or soccer. Social gatherings also include these sports activites I perform. This is my greatest way to relieve stress and just get away. Through this semester I have gone shopping with friends, to the movies, bowling, to the Cafe, and many other areas. Overall I think that I have made a well balance life style with what I am doing with my first semester at Davis College. There are some more activites I also participate such as Student Government as the Life Rep for my class.
This is my update for those who you who would like to know how school is going this semester. Any questions please feel free to ask, God Bless. :)

Standing Up Is Hard!!!
Title- Standing Up Is Hard
Why Write About This? I am writing about this because I had to do it yesterday. Is there importance behind this issue that I decided to write about standing up? Yes, in Life Ethics and Worldview Class I was challenged to Stand up for my values and beliefs. Will this example apply to the reader? If you have morals and beliefs and values, then yes. ENJOY!!!
So yesterday I was in a public area for college students, enojoying fellowship with some friends, while eating supper. Supper was going well until one student decided to talk about another student and pick out his bad characteristics. Without anger, I stated, "This doesn't sound like it is very edifying to the people you are talking about, so why are you pointing out his faults." The correction stood, but I could tell there was a sour taste left behind to the one rebuked. Then shortly after, another friend came and sat down. She was not having the best of days, you could tell by her body language and emotions. The supper conversation continued just fine, until four of my friends went to get drinks and more food. When that happened the kid one seat away from me standing decided to say the word ni**a. I looked at him with a surprised facial reaction, before I could say anything he said it again, but used the term ni**er. I corrected him by saying, "watch your mouth (insert name)." He then told me to shut the h*ll up. (I'm completely shocked by this behavior at the moment) I told him, " no, you need to remember where your at." He replied, "man I don't care" I replied, "You should care". He said, "shut the f**k up man," but then he added."I'll punch you in you f***ing face." I continued with this conversation by saying ," no you won't, if you do that you will get kicked out." He replied by saying, " man I don't care". I told him that if he didn't care then to dismiss himself from standing at our table. ( Because the sum of us there didn't want to hear his vulgar terms for black people or me) He then tried to antagonize me and so he sat down and said, "make me". I ended this by saying no (insert name) I will not resort to your level, I know where I'm at. He then sat for a couple minutes and left.
After reading this you maybe shocked that I used the language that (insert name) used, but I wanted you to connect to the story, that I was faced with. I do not normally use those terms, so if you took offense to that, let me know and I'll consider you next time I ever write a story like that. My main point behind this story is obviously standing up for your beliefs and values. Some people might say that I have no right to correct him in front of 3 people. But I didn't do it for the glory, I did it because I didn't want him to think it was okay. I was not looking for the ordeal I had in discussion with him, but thats the risk of confronting people in situations like that. Another reason I took this term personal is because my old best friend from college is black, I hated it when people used those terms then and I still do now.
Overall I would like to know your ideas on this story. Was I wrong in saying something? Should I have gone to him personally and confronted him? Or did I do the right thing, knowing that he would just brush it off his shoulders when confronted in a group, as he would have done in private? Either way I confronted him as a reaction, it was like the matrix. It wasn't something that was planned out.

Bad Days
If your a family member of mine, please do not read this. MOM!!! (its personal, and I don't want you to see it.)
So this New post is something from the Heart. So if you really do not care to read something that has meaning to one person's life, I suggest you read another blog or page.
What are bad days?
According to most people I ask bad days are in massive ranges of things. One might say I broke a nail, that's a bad day. Another might say I stepped on a bug, that's a bad day. In fact another person might say I didn't go for a walk or exercise, that's a bad day. These all are bad things to those people, but to a crowd are these bad days? I like to think not, despite what those individuals say is a bad day for them. To me a bad day does not even come close to the disappointment that I mentioned early. A actual bad day can progress to a bad couple of days, maybe even a week or two. This is where it starts to get personal.
Here are my personal examples, that qualify in my life as Bad Days...
1. Mother wakes up to being raped, and I am the conceived child.
2. Dad leaves mom, because he is not man enough to live and love the right way.
3. Mom strives so hard as to work three jobs, that I call my sister/babysitter mom.
4. Mother goes through 3 marriages still not having the man she rightfully deserves.
5. When young, my mom leaves and says see is taking off, I react by ripping the board off my bunk bed. Hence smacking my mouth and getting knocked out for my first time. Result, Dental damage, blood, and I messed up my root system, otherwise would have had perfect teeth.
6. Watching my mom dance with her 3rd husband, while he pushes me away when I try and hug her. Maybe because he was drunk, not sure.
7. Waking up to the fact that most of my family is lost and without a relationship with God.
8. Hearing more stories of how my sister does/sell drugs.
9. Hearing the same about my brother.
10. Going to my sisters house and seeing the want to change, but not the will to change.
11. Seeing my sister cry her heart out for people, yet getting screwed over on a daily basis.
12. Seeing my brother everyday, while he envies me for my second chances.
13. Failure in the eyes of my mother when I make a mistake.
14. When I personally stumble and I feel guilt from sin.
15. When I get the feeling I can no longer look up and ask God if he is pleased with me.
16. When I go home from college and a friend dies.
17. When I go home from college and after a friend dies another 2 people die.
18. At the same time as above, a friend of mine gets beaten up and almost robbed.
19. Also at the same time above when my cousin and her mom get jumped at a local store and I cannot do anything about it.
20. When someone turns down the opportunity to come before Christ.
21. When I no longer feel a passion for volleyball.
I gave 21 statements of things that are Bad Days to me. I did this because I could go on for quite awhile; I am 21 so I gave one for each year I have been aged. Like I said these are personal, I will not lie to you guys, writing this made me cry. Seeing all the pain in my life can make me do that I guess. But Knowing God is there takes care of most the pain.
My point is simply this, just because one thing in your day does not go right, do not call it a bad day. Maybe you could call it a good day with one mishap. That way your not over using the words Bad Day. There are always more people who have it better and worse. I do not have it the worse nor the greatest, and with that I am satisfied that I have no other significant pains.
PS. You might ask why I didn't write about Good Days.... I did this for a reason, people in this world always let there Bad out way their good. My hope in putting my life out there is that maybe people can start focusing on the good in their lives and allow that to out way the bad in their life.

The Big Yellow Bus/True Bond of Friendship
What is Friendship? What are Best Friends? What is a True Friendship?
How do these all tie together with what we, as people value and want in life?
Kindergarden is the first year most children go to school. When we go to kindergarden we jump on the bus, turn and wave good bye to our parents. Some of us even have a fit and run off the bus screaming. Have you ever wondered why some little kids are scared of the big yellow bus? I have recently thought about this, as an issue came up at college. In order to understand my point I will have to go into detail about what happened to me and my friends.
The beginning of the fall semester went so well, at least I thought. In case you don't know I attend Davis Bible College, you know the place where people who believe in God normally go to. Well anyway I have a group of friends from various backrounds. There is one kid from Belize and we call him JV. Another one is from a few different places so I just call him New York. The other is my roommate, who I also live with back home, he has many nicknames. My favorite nickname for him is Lunch Box and sometimes Nikkers. Me, well I'm describe as the Big Guy, the Defender, the leader. I love the group of friends I have, they are awesome and we are all young in the faith. Long story short, we all became great friends and started hanging everyday. After awhile, we all, started to make rude comments about one another. We kept it in, most of the time, but it had to come out sooner or later. Well it all finally came out the other day, when I told two of them to keep talking and not stop just because New York walked in. You see they were talking about him behind his back. This is something everyone is guilty of. Well I got offensive because Lunch Box and JV turned into cowards, after becoming silent when he showed up. About five minutes after that Lunch Box and I had an arugement in our room and he left. New York showed up to do some homework shortly after and play Plants vs. Zombies. When we were in the room we both received text messages. New York received one from JV, I received one from Lunch Box. I am not sure what JV said to New York, but forgiveness was given and received by both of them. Lunch Box apoligized to me as well. I forgave him, knowing that we have all wronged one another I sent a text to all three of them saying, " Forgiveness on all parties, We have all wronged one another in some way. This is the crap we sort through to make us the Brothers that we all will become." We all agreed, forgave, and moved on. Later that night we all got together and watched a movie in 3D, it was that quickly forgotten
You may find yourself asking, "Whats the point of the Big Yellow Bus then?" Well, I will get there shortly. I asked some questions before that little story, so I wanna to answer those first.
What is Friendship? What are Best Friends? What is a True Friendship?
How do these all tie together with what we, as people value and want in life?
What is friendship? Friendship is the basic acceptance of the other party, then enjoying similarities.
What are Best Friends? Best friends are the people who are next to you, they are the ones on your recent call logs and texts messages. Best Friends are the ones to catch you before you fall, not pick you up. All your friends will pick you up when you fall, it is the best friends who are there to catch you before you hit hard. What is true friendship? True friendship is the perfect relationship you can have. True friendship, is when others have your back, to their back, fighting all attacks side by side. True friendship is loving, humble, sacrificial, mercy, grace it is full of God's characteristics. True friendship is the willingness to be corrective, held accountable, and submit to one another's criticism.
Now comes the answer about the Big Yellow Bus. I believe that the kids who automatically have fits while getting on the bus face a separation issue. I believe this comes from leaving their parents and going somewhere they have no idea or control of. Now the other half of the kids are quite different. Those kids who get on first have it easy, they just sit down. But as the bus seats slowly fill in each seat you realize that the next kids who get on have to sit with someone. This is the vital part. This is the child's first dilemma, choosing who to sit with is big. You can sit with the clean kid, the one with glasses, the fat kid, the boy with long hair, the cuties on the bus, maybe others with messed up teeth or even a nerdy kid, you might just see your little suit kid there as well and we can't forget the little boy dressed in church attire... My point is that picking your friends begins with your first action of sitting on the bus. I had my best friend from kindergarden to tenth grade, all because he was the first person I sat with. This is why I believe kids are afarid of the Big Yellow Bus. They are forced with a choice that could last a life time and even dictate who they socially click with. Just like in college, the friends I have now are all the people I first sat with. It just goes to show you how simple actions in life last a long time.
The reason I wrote about this, is because It is something I care about, I love my friends and I wouldn't have them any other way. I want to challenge you readers to evaulate yourselves and your decisions.
I want you to think about the places you sit, areas you visit, and the message that your giving off. Is it worth sitting next to? Is it worth listening to and following? Are the areas you visit the same place you would tell everyone you go to? My challenge is to truely think about these things.

A New Generation
The Door Generations
When I was in tenth grade I started going to a youth center called The Door, located in the Bellwood Antis township. The Door was something new to me as I only saw some of my friends there hanging out. I noticed that when I started going, there were a lot of stories about the older people who had graduated. I went to the youth center from tenth grade to my senior year and graduated and left the youth center as a student. After the next two years all my other friends graduated as well. A whole new generation had come up through the youth center's program. While my friends were still in high school I volunteered at the youth center and I even did a summer internship there. I went onto college at Mid-Atlantic Christian University, then to The Altoona Bible Institute and I am now currently at Davis Bible College. I came back for my Fall Break from Davis College and I went to The Door to do some volunteer work. Now that I am here and helping out I hear the same stories about the generation before. The only difference is that the stories consist of me and my friends. It is truly an eye opening event seeing how the generations of stories continue through so many people.
So why did I write my first blog about generations and a youth center called, "The Door"?
I wrote about The Door because, it is where my new life began. I also wrote about generations because I want be remembered. I do not want to live life and be just another grave stone. I want to be that person that you hear stories about, I want to leave a trademark, even if only last couple years after I pass.
So I will leave YOU with these questions. What are you doing to leave an impact that will last a lifetime? Are you challenging yourself daily to live a worthy life of Modelship? What have the generations before you done in order that they are remember and how long will that last?
When I was in tenth grade I started going to a youth center called The Door, located in the Bellwood Antis township. The Door was something new to me as I only saw some of my friends there hanging out. I noticed that when I started going, there were a lot of stories about the older people who had graduated. I went to the youth center from tenth grade to my senior year and graduated and left the youth center as a student. After the next two years all my other friends graduated as well. A whole new generation had come up through the youth center's program. While my friends were still in high school I volunteered at the youth center and I even did a summer internship there.
